Sellers Description
This etched copper bangle bearing imagery of flying birds over thorns has been heat treated to create a vibrant multicoloured patina: this will deepen over time. I have developed a technique of literally 'painting' with a flame to manipulate the shape and direction of the colours. Although there is a degree of control, each piece is unique, as the colour patina cannot be replicated exactly.
In holistic medicine, copper claims to have many health benefits: 'Copper has been used to promote health in various ways since ancient times. The ancient Egyptians used it to purify water for drinking, and cultures around the world used it as a form of medicine for such afflictions as sore throat, eye infections, and skin conditions. It was also applied to wounds to prevent infection. In the modern era, copper was discovered to have anti-microbial properties which made it well suited for its ancient uses. Copper can be used on surfaces or woven into fabrics to prevent the spread of bacteria.' (please note: I do not purport to advocate or verify these claims!)
Bangle is approximately 21cm in circumference, 5cm width
colour patination and etch may vary slightly

Purchase will be posted to your MISI postal address. I aim to send items out within 5 days of payment being received and cleared, please allow longer for custom/made-to-order orders, especially in silver, as some items over a certain weight require Assaying/Hallmarking. I usually post 3 days a week - usually a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I post my items via Royal Mail 'Recorded Signed For' for orders under £50: orders over £50 are shipped Royal Mail 'Special Delivery' and postage is free (i.e. I cover the costs for postage on orders over £50), this usually takes 1-3 days to arrive within the UK. (Please note Special Deliver is next day delivery, except Friday postings, which are delivered the following Monday). Orders outside the UK are posted 'International Signed For', which is £3.70+£1.50(Airmail). Again, orders over £50 are free postage BUT I recommend extra compensation for large orders(this is £2.20, dependent on destination), as I cannot otherwise be held responsible for lost/damaged items resulting from postal error. (if you want extra compensation on your order, please contact me prior to payment so that I can amend your invoice) |
| Refunds and Exchanges |
| I will refund on items where damage is clearly due to 'manufacturing' error: I am happy to exchange items, but unfortunately cannot pay for return shipping costs in this case. If after receiving your item you are unhappy please message me and we can work things out. |
