after lacking inspiration for a while i bought some canvases and this is what i came up with.

now i'm off to try and make some new jewellery. stuff i like this time ;)
about time for an update!
from the title i'm sure you can guess where i just got back from! it was fantaaaastic!! i really really loved it there, and have every intention of going back as soon as i can afford to!
back to business...been working on a few new things lately. firstly before my trip i had a comission for 8 mini top hats - this is how they turned out.
the customer and i were very happy with them, i wanted to keep some of them for myself!! but the money was much needed.
i've also started a new range of 'build your own jewellery' here is an example..
basically you start off with a chain, silver, gold or copper. choose whether you'd like pearls on it and then pick which, and however many charms you would like. it could be a necklace or a bracelet currently, but i might introduce other types of jewellery too. seemed like the perfect way for people to get a one of a kind necklace, and exactly what they wanted...we'll see if anyone goes for it.
ooh, also my queen b range is to be featured in the next edition of 'alt fashion' from what i gather it is just that, a small alternative fashion magazine, which seems to be primarily online but physical copies can also be ordered from their site and select shops. www.altfashion.co.uk
i will keep you posted as to when it's out etc!!
that's all i can think of right now - there may be an edit later on.
I’ve been wanting to write an update over the last few days, but have been so busy making things. Now I’ve just run out of glue and can’t continue with my current project until tomorrow. A good time to stop and write. What I’ve been working on tonight has been most enjoyable. I had an order for eight mini top hats for a lovely girl running a dread falls and wig company, they’re to be sold alongside her products as dread accessories so these eight are a sample order before any wholesale orders. I really love making these lil hats, it’s much easier to come up with new ideas and be really imaginative with them. With jewellery I sometimes feel like I’ve experimented with eeeeverything. I will post photos of the hats once all eight are completed, tonight I’ve only made the first two.
A couple days ago the post man brought me a wonderful package of goodies. I was lucky enough to win a prize draw on http://www.ukhandmade.co.uk and the things I received were lovely and fantastically crafted. Here’s what I won…
I’ve also been working hard on my keepsake jewellery. A good friend of mine gave me a box of her nan’s old jewellery to transform into new pieces for her, this is what I have come up with so far.
I was so inspired I made one for myself from my old bits and pieces.
I now only have a week left til I got to Brighton for three days and straight on to New York for five. I will be back with another update after that!
Today I had all my hair cut off. I honestly did not think the cut would suit me one bit, but was determined to have it nonetheless…the way I see it this hair much better suits my personality, and my old hair did not! (whilst it may have looked better) I love it anyway, I’ve wanted short hair for a long long time.
The past couple of weeks have been extremely busy. Last week I booked a spur of the moment trip to New York with a few friends and no money! So I have been working non-stop ever since on my jewellery to try and save lots of money for my trip. It’s paid off because orders have been flooding in and keeping my personal postman (dad) in business. I’m reaaaaally excited about going to NY, I’ve wanted to go there as long as I can remember, so I’m counting down the days til Feb 12th.
I’ve been making loaaads of new things, including some birthday presents for close friends. I’ve also kicked off my ‘keepsake jewellery’ scheme by offering friends and family the chance to have a piece made for free, which has proven to have a very good response so far and should keep me busy for a while. So far I have made a necklace for my mum, which I actually love. If it wasn’t made from her old jewellery I’d want to keep it to sell! I’m hoping someone will bring me some more unusual things aswell, such as brownie badges and medals. I think they’d work brilliantly.

I’ve also been trying to work on valentines jewellery, I haven’t made much so far but here’s a couple of items.
That’s about all for now, I’ll check in with exciting new stuff next week!
I'm very excited about some of these new pieces which is why I'm dedicating a blog to them.
