My first ever craft fair

Was today at the Misi fair, it was lots of fun i REALLY enjoyed myself.  only had one hiccup when i met my first ever shoplifter, i guess if i plan on doing this more then it is to be expected.  i learnt alot on by the end of the day my cheeks were aching as i was smiling at everyone!  Few things i need to think over if i am to do another.

i need to keep lists of my stock so i can keep track of what is there, i am thinking numbering everything and putting the items number on the back of the price tag.  then i can keep a list and mark off what i have sold. 

i think i need to make more signs for the table, things like yes these are bookmarks! and phone charms.  also a sign saying all earrings can be changed into clip on's.

i'm wondering if i need a bigger sign on the actual table talking about the proceeds going to many tears, its on the banner but many people didnt read the sign, maybe to many words.

think that is all for now, if i remember anything else then i will be back!

Virgin seed beading

At 3am I gave up trying to sleep and decided to have a bash at seed beading.   I need to invest in some thread conditioner or some decent thread as mine kept fraying.

I also worked out that seed pearls are'nt a very good bead to start with.

I will try again tho as I think I will enjoy it.

Chain mail or seed bead?

I have been mulling over learning more about both of these subjects

Fingers crossed I will be doing a seed bead course in december, so I have been finger walking for information on chain maille.  There is so much.  I can't decide where to start its giving me a bit of a headache.  I am determined to stick with it tho.

Am also ordering in a large supply of paracetamol.......

Misi meet goody bag

i have 95% decided to get myself put into this.  Problem is it means making 100 rings....  ah well least the weather is nice.

i just had the dog crashed out on my lap, flat out on her back snoring.  bless her :D

note to self, contact Emma to ask her how we get the goody bag stuff to her.

My inspiration

I'm not sure I ever posted why I started trying to make jewellery... but since i never need a reason to talk about my dog i going to do it anyway.
I own a rescue cavalier king charles spaniel, her name is Peaches (or walking prozac)

i had the idea to try my hand at jewellery making, I got hooked.

Anyway more about Peaches. She has saved my sanity on more than one occasion, sometimes by just being there. She follows me all over the house and like's nothing better than curling up sleeping next to me, she even has a blanket next to me by my workspace.

she came from a puppy farm and was obviously bred from heavily. i was told she was 4 when i got her but she has grown so much since i got her that i can't imagine she was much more than a pup herself, for what she has been through, she has a wonderful loving nature and i am very lucky to have her.

Business cards

well they are finally ordered,  i am very nervous about the whole idea.  up till now it had just been a hobby with me sellign stuff as a added bonus.  now its a bit more serious.  i need to have more confidence in myself.

Baking Fimo

i never thought i would be sat here waiting for clay to cook!  on the up side i am going to get money for thease, on the down side i am making more money off the fimo stuff than i am my own jewellery.

you see i am a member of a LARP (live action roleplay) society, and for part of that we need symbols for each of the different groups.  13 in all skulls, swords, nature things (leaves etc) scales, celtic cross, ladies faces and or dice, and gems.  Axes, mirrors, masks, spirals, gold coins.  so i am currently baking a Fimo set of scales, i would be happier if my own jewellery creations were selling but hey the more money i get, the more money i can send to the dog's.

i have also partly solved my storage problem!  we got some little sucker cups with hooks on yesterday and curretly i have most of my necklaces stuck to the kitchen window, i must say it looks all rather pretty :D  i wonder what would happen if i put a Swarofski crystal necklace up there.......

untill today i would have said my favourite colour was blue, i was sat putting together some earrings and realized that everything i have made recently is pink!,

pink jumble necklace pink earrings even a bracelet. this is a odd turn up for me.....
